FUNK AND SOUL WITH A 1970s PUNCH
“Randa And The Soul Kingdom’s second album, and things just keep getting better and better. This is one of those albums that just has to be played loud so as to appreciate the wonderful musicianship and awesome grooves.” – Paul Miller, BBC’s Paul Miller Soul Show
Randa And The Soul Kingdom are a 6-piece band that bring 1970s funk and soul to life with a big, classic funk sound that has a fresh edge.
Comprised of vocals, drums, guitar, bass, trumpet and saxophone, these seasoned performers cover greats such as James Brown, Aretha Franklin, contemporary music such as Pharrell Williams’ ‘Happy’ and Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky’ and their own original numbers.
Randa And The Soul Kingdom formed out of a common desire to write and perform as a tribute to their funk and soul roots and they’ve since received international airplay as well as accolades from Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings when performing support.
Frontwoman Randa is a singer/songwriter of funk and soul, having released two albums worldwide via Freestyle Records in London that lead to her touring the UK, Europe and Australia.
Randa And The Soul Kingdom’s debut single ‘Not Gonna Let You’, which has been released on vinyl, has been picked up by DJs all around the world and has already become an anthem at ‘100 Club’ in London. It has even charted top 10 releases in Germany thanks to international DJs Marc Hype and Jim Dunloop.
