1960s to current day salsa dura
The Nueva Salsa Orchestra are an energetic band that specialises in Cuban, Columbian and New York salsa – in fact, we’re pretty sure they’re one of the hottest salsa bands this side of Havana.
With a repertoire consisting of high energy salsas, mambos and cha-chas, they’re guaranteed to get your body moving to the infectious rhythms of their percussion section, dazzling horns, jumping piano and bass grooves, and the vocal talents of Adolfo Chavez.
Adolfo is accompanied by an array of talented musicians who either form a 5-piece that boasts vocals, trumpet, piano, bass and congas (with added hand percussion) or 9-piece that consists of the 5-piece plus trombone, sax, timbales and hand percussion.
Be blown away by Nueva Salsa Orchestra, who once formed part of a 16-piece backing band for Columbian salsa superstar Wilson Saoko from Fruko y Sus Tesos. This meant a huge crowd of screaming women rushing the stage and yelling the Spanish lyrics back to them.
When you see the Nueva Salsa Orchestra you don’t just see and hear it, you really feel it… And you definitely won’t be able to sit still!
