1930 and 40s swing, bossa and Cuban jazz
“Glyn serves it up. He isn’t into just playing chords and devices but rather describing things with music, describing specific feelings or abstract concepts. He has a vision and his music will take you there if you allow it.” – Barney McAll (Blue Note recording artist and pianist for Gary Bartz)
Wowing audiences worldwide with their contemporary approach to original jazz the Glyn MacDonald Trio spare not a wayward note on their journey through swing, bossa and Cuban jazz from the 1930s to 1940s.
This trio have a knack for infectious, toe-tappin’ swing, resting comfortably on a bed of groove-oriented originality by Karl Florisson (bass), Michael Perkins (drums) and Glyn MacDonald (piano).
Having collectively performed with jazz greats such as James Morrison, Gary Bartz and Harry Connick Jr, this high pedigreed band has even performed for Queen Elizabeth II and the Prince of Belgium!
The Glyn MacDonald Trio’s repertoire includes hits such as Cole Porter’s ‘Every Time We Say Goodbye’ and Duke Ellington’s ‘Take the A Train’ and they are best suited to background music at a variety of private and community events.
