HARMONY SWING FROM THE 1920s TO THE 1940s
“…the Cottontail Trio’s harmonies shone like a nearby stellar formation. The band – The Supper Club – made up of the horns: clarinet, trumpet and saxophone, and rhythm section: upright bass, acoustic guitar and drums – were world class. Each and every new song was as slick as the previous one.” – The Music
Cottontail Trio & The Supper Club are a 9-piece band with an authentic vintage sound brought to you by a three-part horn section and a swinging rhythm section.
Fronting the band is the Cottontail Trio: three effervescent women who sing in close harmony, dazzle you with their blinding speed and accuracy, then sooth you with their blended, silken tones.
Combining their love of singing, dancing and theatricality, Jessie Gordon, Amy Rosato and Alissa Claessens bring the music of the Golden Era back to life.
They’re joined by drums and a double bass, guitar, saxophone, clarinet and trumpet and as a special treat all of the horn players also play surprise percussion.
Cottontail Trio & The Supper Club can swing from diamond-encrusted 1920s & 30s Gatsby style glamour to 1940s victory rolls and wartime uniforms, ready to entertain the troops. With vintage jazz dances to match, they’ll make you feel as though you are back swinging in the Savoy ballroom or jumping at the Cotton Club.
It Don’t Mean A Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing!
Jazz was America’s first popular music, capturing the imagination of a generation of young people who discovered within it a freedom of thought, movement and expression.
The 1920s & 30s saw the rise of swing music in an exciting new world where young people drank champagne and danced in flapper dresses and dapper suits. Close-harmony singing soon became part of popular culture, with groups like the Mills Brothers, the Boswell Sisters and the Andrews Sisters stealing the hearts of young and old alike.
